At BTS communications, our idea of a nonprofit is simple—it’s an organization that seeks to better the world without trying to enrich itself. But these days, the word “nonprofit” can conjure different imagery. Regretfully, “nonprofit” organizations are playing a role in changing how our electoral system works, and sadly they’re doing it with very little oversight and accountability. Should an organization dedicated to the “noble” cause of swaying an election with millions of dollars (from anonymous donors) be allowed to have nonprofit status? What do you think?
